CANTO POP VOL. 3 - Skate Exhibition & Video Premiere

To celebrate the release of Canto Pop #3, we organised an exhibition at SohoHouse in Sheung Wan. This was an opportunity to showcase the Hong Kong skate scene, bring the creative community together and have a party.

THE SKATE SESSION

Jay from FCHK skates built us a brand new skate obstacle for the event and local street artist Lousy, created an original Canto Pop logo that was printed onto the wood. We placed it in the gallery space and waited for hungry local skaters to show up. Not often do you get to skate a perfect ledge in an air conditioned gallery with smooth floors. The session went on until we got the boot at around 1:00AM.

WAX FRAMES

Photographer Elton Fung & designer Orange Terry collaborated to create nine, one-of-a-kind wax frames. This was a wild idea that popped up one night while they were chatting on the phone. They felt it complemented the overall skate-themed exhibition and for a change, skate wax could be used in a more aesthetic way, rather than rubbing it on the side of a street curb.
